VICE PRESIDENT YEMI OSINBAJO READS TO CHILDREN ON WORLD BOOK DAY
Monday, the 23rd of April was the UN World Book And Copyright Day. To celebrate this day, the Rainbow Book Club hosted the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who read to kids of LEA Govt. Primary School, Gwarimpa, Abuja. The event was also graced by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and the FCT Minister, Alhaji Muhammed Bello. The event kicked off with the national anthem, a short address by the ministers and an address by the UNESCO Director, Yao Ydo, who was represented by Mr Ajaegbo.

The Vice President headed to the classroom where the children were already seated and ready for him. He read to children from the book- The Legend: Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe by Olajire Olanlokun. After he reading, the VP asked the children questions regarding what they had learned from the book and he also praised their ability to answer the questions intelligently. The highlight of the event for me was the student's questions to the Vice President. They asked him questions on corruption, his childhood, how he balances his personal and work life, how he handles bullies, how he works with the President and how he became the Vice President of Nigeria. His Excellency had very interesting and and intelligent answers for the children. He spoke on the benefit of living a good life as individuals in their communities and as citizens of Nigeria. The children presented him with a handmade card and took pictures with him.
